If you are interested in our classic nostalgic mailboat voyages on board the historic vessel Nordstjernen I would be delighted to hear from you.
We look back on a successful and very busy 2025 season with five wonderful nostalgic mailboat voyages. The highlights were our trips to Oslo for the national holiday on May 17th and our fully booked tour to Scotland in July.
2026 will be a very special and emotional year for Nordstjernen and her loyal passengers. Our beloved “Stjerna” will turn 70 on February 24th! Naturally, we want to celebrate this milestone on board Nordstjernen together with “the best passengers in the world” — on two special nostalgic mailboat voyages. Our big " 70th birthday voyage" will take place from May 7 to May 25, 2026.
Departing from and returning to Warnemünde/Germany (please ask for alternative ports for embarkation/disembarkation), we will follow the old routes of the coastal express ships — through majestic fjords and past fishing villages, along steep coastlines, remote skerries, and familiar places. It will be a journey full of memories and emotions — and of joyful anticipation for what lies ahead. We’ll experience both well-known and new ports together, as well as the awakening of the Nordic spring with its long bright nights and the midnight sun. After all, this region was Nordstjernen’s home for more than 56 years during her era as a Hurtigruten ship — and now, it’s time to come back! A very special highlight awaits us on this voyage. On May 17, we will celebrate Norway’s National Day together for the very first time in the far north — in true style, on board our Nordstjernen, with flags, music, stories, and joy in our hearts. And of course with Norwegian waffles...
This special journey is more than a voyage to Northern Norway. It is a tribute to classic seafaring and a bygone era that will come alive once more on this journey. We will publish the full details of our "70th birthday voyage" in May 2026 very soon. We kindly ask for a little more patience, as we are still waiting for confirmations from a few ports.
In early September, we plan to set out on our second nostalgic mailboat voyage — this time exploring a completely different region: Southern England. However, we still need time for planning and to establish contact with the ports. So it will take a little longer before we can share details.
