70 years of wind and waves - 70 years of tales whispered by the sea
We set sail on a special voyage, with hearts full of memories and eyes on the horizon
2026 will be a very special and emotional year for Nordstjernen and her loyal passengers. Our beloved “Stjerna” will turn 70 on February 24th! Naturally, we want to celebrate this milestone on board Nordstjernen together with “the best passengers in the world” — on two special nostalgic mailboat voyages. Our big " 70th anniversary voyage" will take place from May 7th to May 25th, 2026.
Departing from and returning to Warnemünde/Germany (an alternative embarkation is possible on May 8th in Gothenburg/Sweden and a disembarkation on May 24th in Malmö/Sweden), we will follow the old routes of the coastal express ships — through majestic fjords and past fishing villages, along steep coastlines, remote skerries, and familiar places. It will be a journey full of memories and emotions — and of joyful anticipation for what lies ahead. We’ll experience both well-known and new ports together, as well as the awakening of the Nordic spring with its long bright nights and the midnight sun. After all, this region was Nordstjernen’s home for more than 56 years during her era as a Hurtigruten ship — and now, it’s time to come back! A very special highlight awaits us on this voyage. On May 17th, we will celebrate Norway’s National Day together for the very first time in the far north — in true style, on board our Nordstjernen, with flags, music, stories, and joy in our hearts. And of course with Norwegian waffles...
This special journey is more than a voyage to Northern Norway. It is a tribute to classic seafaring and a bygone era that will come alive once more on this journey.

After many weeks of work, thinking and careful planning, we are delighted to present our second nostalgic mailboat voyage in the anniversary year of our dear "Stjerna". Created with great attention to detail, this voyage invites you to discover new and lesser-known destinations in southern England. Once again, we will depart from Germany and for the first time from Bremerhaven. All ports on this voyage are maiden calls and we will be taken to special destinations not visited by large cruise ships.
This voyage is a tribute to a ship that, for decades, has been far more than just a means of transport – it has touched people and shaped history. On board, we want not only to preserve memories but also to write new stories for the future. In doing so, we will show beyond the borders of Norway what an extraordinary ship our Nordstjernen is. Great Britain, with its long and proud seafaring tradition, has been and remains home to many historically significant ships. Our "Stjerna" is also a classic of maritime history, and we are delighted to be honored by the ports of southern England during these maiden calls as a symbol of nostalgic sea voyages and maritime heritage.
